Legal Framework for Private Chef Services
These Terms & Conditions outline the policies and expectations for all services offered by Proud Palate (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking or using our services, you agree to these terms.
Services Provided
Proud Palate provides in-home meal prep, private dinners, canapés, and small event services.
All services are performed in your home using your kitchen and equipment unless otherwise arranged.
Client Responsibilities
To ensure a smooth and safe experience, clients are responsible for providing:

A clean and functional kitchen

Working stove, oven, sink, and refrigerator

Basic cooking equipment such as pots, pans, mixing bowls, cutting boards, knives, and utensils

Cleaning products including dish soap, sponge, trash bags, and paper towels

Clear counter space for food preparation
Clients must also communicate in advance regarding allergies, dietary restrictions, building entry details, parking instructions, or any limitations that may affect service.
Groceries & Ingredients
Groceries are not included in the service rate.
Clients may either purchase all required ingredients themselves, or request that Proud Palate shop for and deliver groceries.
If grocery shopping is requested, it is treated as a separate service and includes a shopping fee, carrying/transport fee, and reimbursement for the cost of ingredients. All grocery costs must be reimbursed the same day.
Booking & Deposits
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure bookings for private dinners and events.
Meal prep sessions may require a deposit or full payment depending on scheduling demands.
A booking is only confirmed after the deposit has been received.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Meal Prep Sessions:
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the session may be charged up to 50% of the service fee.
Same-day cancellations may be charged 100%.
Private Dinners & Events:
Deposits are non-refundable.
Cancellations made less than five days before the event may be charged the full service fee.
Rescheduling is possible depending on availability.
Allergies & Food Safety
Clients must disclose all allergies and food restrictions before service.
Proud Palate is not responsible for issues caused by incomplete disclosures, allergens in client-provided ingredients, or cross-contamination risks within the client’s kitchen.
Liability
Proud Palate is not liable for injuries, damages, or issues caused by:

Faulty or unsafe appliances

Unsafe kitchen environments

Power outages or building-related problems

Improper food storage or handling after the service is completed
Clients are responsible for ensuring their kitchen is safe and functional.
Payment Policy
Payment for services and groceries (if applicable) is due on the day of service unless otherwise agreed.
Accepted forms of payment include e-transfer and other approved methods.
Photos & Media
With your permission, Proud Palate may photograph dishes prepared during your service for marketing and portfolio use. No images of your home or family will be taken without explicit consent.
Privacy & Personal Information
Personal information collected for bookings or communication is handled according to the Proud Palate Privacy Policy.

These Terms & Conditions may be updated at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
